Thanks but NO Thanks

thanks but no thanks with purple, blue, and green blobs

We have all been there, we have ALL had prospects contact us that we decide for one reason or another, we do not want to work with them.  But how do we tell them that in a way that still leaves everyone happy?  Try using this template the next time you need to tell someone, "Thanks but NO thanks".

Dear Prospect,

Thank you so much for spending a few minutes of your time on the phone with me yesterday.  It was so great hearing about your plans for your portrait session and how you want to use the images of your gorgeous family.

After reflecting on your requirements for your session, my studio does not have the resources available at this time to serve your needs best.

It is always an honor when families invite me in to capture their precious moments and I am sure that you are going to find the perfect photographer for you session in very short order.

{Here is where you can refer them to others if you want but you don't have to.  Please do your fellow photographers a favor and do not refer people who are difficult or don't want to pay an appropriate rate for the services they require. That isn't being nice to anyone.}

I wish you all the best!

Dorie

Notice, I didn't lie, I didn't mince words, and I didn't make long excuses.  It is direct, kind, and to the point.

We all need something like this in our back pocket to be able to say "No thank you" in the nicest way possible.  Keep this in yours, it will come in handy some day.

Can you do me a favor?  If this has been helpful can you share it with a friend?  I would appreciate it so much
